Luke is in Minnesota this week for work and I have an extremely hectic schedule at work myself. It is not a good time for Anderson to be sick. I got a call on Tuesday around lunch to come get him because he was running a low grade fever. I took him to the doctor right away because I wanted to get him better. They put us back on the neubilzer, and also an antibiotic for a slight ear infection.
That night, he started fussing and I put him in bed with me. There were a few occassions where he started shaking and then cried really hard afterwards. I wasn't sure what was going on, and since I was by myself, I didn't know what to do either. He seemed to be okay and later started sweating and the fever went down, so I think the fever just broke and they were chills.
The next morning he was fine, but I called the doctor anyway about that shaking. They wanted me to come in so I made an appointment for that afternoon. When he woke from his nap, he had a super high temp and was very lethargic. I didn't give him anything to bring the fever down because our appointment was only an hour away and I didn't want to mask any symptoms.
We get to our appointment and his temp is at 105. There was a lot of concern from the nurse and doctor. They gave him Ibuprofin right away. They did all sorts of tests, chest x-rays, blood, strep, etc. and could not find anything wrong with him. He had a slight cold and of course that ear infection, but everything was so minor compared to the fever that accompianied. They ended up giving the little guy a shot to take the fever down. It must be pretty powerful because they had to divy it up between both legs and I had to wait 15 minutes afterwards to make sure he didn't have a reaction.
He ended up getting better that evening and was able to go back to school at the end of the week. The little buger does have bad timing though. I am just glad he's feeling better. It was a pretty scary time for mommy.
