Trick or Treat

Des Moines is a crazy place where they decided to do "Beggar's Night". It is when the kids go trick-or-treating and it is always on October 30th. Weird.

Anyway, Anderson got dressed in his monkey suit again and went trick-or-treating through the neighborhood. Maddy went too and wore her Halloween sweatshirt.

Anderson was really into the pumpkins. He had such a good night. He was really happy...as always

Starting to crawl

We went to Estherville this weekend for Auntie Lexie's 17th birthday. Grandpa would put Anderson on his hands and knees and he would rock his little butt back and forth getting ready to crawl. He's going to be going soon!

We also started feeding him more solid foods this weekend. I had started giving him puffs (a special cereal type snack they make for babies that dissolve quickly), but that was about it. I also gave him some roast beef last week and he did fine with that. This weekend, mostly to keep him occupied while we ate, we tried other foods. At Godfather's on Saturday, he ate bite sized pieces of ham and a little bit of mashed potatoes. That night at Mrs. Lady's, he tried some taco meat, tomatoes, tortilla shells, and cheese.

For Lexie's birthday, we also had a taco bar, so he had pretty much the same thing on Sunday as he did on Saturday night. He did so well though that I think we're done with the baby food. I informed his daycare today to go ahead and feed him the school breakfast and lunch. Feeding himself makes life so much easier for both of us since we can enjoy dinner at the same time.

Night Eyes

On Saturday night I took Anderson to the Blank Park Zoo for Night Eyes. We went with my neighbor Sandy and her kids, Dayton and Symone.

French Fries for my new teeth

Grandma Hash came to visit this weekend. Anderson's first tooth broke through on the bottom. It the front tooth on his right. He doesn't seem too bothered by it except for waking up in the middle of both nights for about an hour or so being fussy. Of course that's when he's upset rather then waiting for the middle of the day when we're all awake.

He also started rolling to his stomach when he sleeps. It really worried Grandma when she put him back to bed in the middle of the night and he rolled right over. She didn't sleep well and kept checking on him every half hour because she thought I'd be mad that he was on his stomach - poor mom!

Grandma decided that new teeth meant getting to try French Fries. He really liked them. Of course he mostly just licked the salt off of them.

Anderson lost 20 lbs!!!

So Anderson went to his 6 month check-up today...he is actually 7 months though. Here are his stats

Height - 28 inches (75th percentile)
Weight - 21 lbs. 12 ounces (90th percentile)
Head - 47 cm (97th percentile)

So how does he lose 20 lbs you ask? Well, they always give me a comparison of what he would be as an adult. At his 4 month check-up he was 6 foot, 220 pounds. Now he is 6 foot, 200 pounds. He's doing much better on his diet then the rest of us. If only we could lose weight that quickly.

Everything else looks good. He's just going to be a kid with a constant cold from what we can tell. At least he's happy. He's doing everything he's supposed to be doing. He even handled the shots pretty well. He cried quite hard during them but was all better as soon as I picked him up. Hopefully he took a nice long nap once he got back to daycare.

He was up all night last night so at least tonight I can give him some Tylenol and hopefully that will conk him out.
